Selections from the Collection of Nicole and David Holcombe

Start date:
Event is ongoing: Until Sunday, May 23, 2010

The Uniquely Louisiana series continues in the spring with the Focus Gallery exhibition Selections from the Holcombe Collection. Approximately two dozen works in a variety of media by contemporary Louisiana artists are included in this remarkable collection that was assembled over a period of twenty-five years by David and Nicole Holcombe of Alexandria. Aptly described as "visual arts powerhouses", the mission of this couple is to "collect locally" in order to support Louisiana’s working artists. As a result of their collecting activities, the Holcombes have forged long-term relationships with many of the artists whose works they have acquired. During this exhibition, the couple will bring their message to Shreveport in a gallery talk that addresses the "hows" and "whys" of their collecting activity.

Sorry, this event ended on Sunday, May 23, 2010.
